Role Summary
The Onboarding Specialist ensures a seamless transition for new members into Built By DAO by guiding them through the onboarding process. This role introduces new members to the organization’s mission, values, and operational structure, providing them with the tools and resources needed to actively engage in the community. The Onboarding Specialist plays a critical role in fostering early connections and helping new members integrate effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Task Group 1: Onboarding Process Management
Develop and execute a structured onboarding process for new members.
Provide an orientation that covers Built By DAO’s mission, values, benefits, and operational framework.
Customize onboarding materials and sessions based on member backgrounds and interests.
Task Group 2: Member Support and Education
Answer questions from new members about processes, roles, and community participation.
Provide resources such as FAQs, handbooks, and instructional guides to facilitate understanding.
Offer one-on-one or group sessions to address specific onboarding needs.
Task Group 3: Community Integration
Introduce new members to relevant teams, resources, and communication channels.
Collaborate with the Membership Outreach Specialist to ensure a smooth transition for recruited members.
Encourage participation in community events, forums, and projects during the onboarding phase.
Task Group 4: Feedback and Improvement
Collect feedback from new members about the onboarding experience.
Use feedback to refine onboarding processes and materials for continuous improvement.
Report onboarding metrics and member integration progress to leadership.
Skills and Qualifications
Required Skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with diverse audiences.
Organizational skills to manage multiple onboarding processes simultaneously.
Proficiency in creating and delivering educational content tailored to member needs.
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with membership or community management tools.
Experience in customer support, human resources, or training roles.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Education, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 2 years of experience in onboarding, training, or member support roles.
Certification in community engagement or training development (e.g., CPTD) is a plus.
Performance Metrics
Percentage of new members completing the onboarding process within the expected timeframe.
New member satisfaction scores from onboarding feedback surveys.
Participation rates of new members in events and community activities within the first 90 days.
Key Activities
Conduct welcome sessions to introduce new members to Built By DAO’s culture and objectives.
Create and maintain up-to-date onboarding materials and resources.
Track the progress of each new member through the onboarding pipeline.
Tools and Resources
Onboarding management software for tracking progress and communication.
Educational tools for creating and delivering orientation content.
Feedback collection tools, such as surveys or one-on-one interviews.

Onboarding Assistant – 3A3-S1
Summary: The Onboarding Assistant supports the Onboarding Specialist by coordinating schedules, preparing materials, and assisting in orientation sessions. This role provides valuable experience in member support and training.
Key Tasks:
Assist in scheduling and organizing onboarding sessions.
Prepare onboarding materials and resources for new members.
Track onboarding progress and update records for reporting.
Skills and Qualifications:
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication skills for assisting with onboarding processes.
Pursuing or holding a degree in Communications, Education, or a related field is preferred.
Performance Metrics:
Accuracy and timeliness in managing onboarding logistics.
