Role Summary
The Permit & Regulatory Specialist ensures that all Built By DAO projects comply with local zoning laws, building codes, and other regulatory requirements. This role is crucial for obtaining the necessary permits and approvals for construction and development. By liaising with legal teams, government bodies, and other stakeholders, the Permit & Regulatory Specialist helps streamline the approval process, ensuring projects proceed without delays.
Key Responsibilities
Task Group 1: Regulatory Compliance
Research and interpret local, state, and federal building codes, zoning laws, and environmental regulations.
Assess project plans to identify potential compliance issues and provide actionable recommendations.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes that could impact current or future projects.
Task Group 2: Permit Acquisition
Prepare and submit permit applications, including supporting documentation and architectural plans.
Track permit statuses and follow up with government agencies to ensure timely approvals.
Work with project managers and legal teams to resolve any issues or objections raised during the permitting process.
Task Group 3: Stakeholder Collaboration
Collaborate with Architects, Urban Planners, and Legal Officers to align designs and plans with regulatory requirements.
Serve as the primary point of contact for local zoning boards, building departments, and environmental agencies.
Present project plans and regulatory compliance strategies at public hearings or meetings when necessary.
Skills and Qualifications
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of zoning laws, building codes, and regulatory frameworks.
Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple permits and deadlines simultaneously.
Strong communication skills for liaising with government officials and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Real Estate, Construction Management, or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience in permitting or regulatory compliance for construction or development projects.

Percentage of permits obtained on time and without major revisions.
Number of resolved compliance issues before construction begins.
Positive feedback from stakeholders and regulatory agencies.

Review and validate architectural and engineering plans for regulatory compliance.
Schedule and attend inspections with local authorities to ensure ongoing project adherence to codes.
