Role Summary
The Site Safety Officer ensures a safe and compliant working environment on all Built By DAO construction sites. This role is responsible for implementing safety protocols, conducting regular inspections, and providing safety training to teams. The Site Safety Officer works closely with site supervisors and tradespeople to identify and address potential hazards, ensuring compliance with local regulations and organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Task Group 1: Safety Protocol Implementation
Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures specific to each construction project.
Ensure all personnel on-site comply with safety regulations and protocols.
Maintain and distribute updated safety manuals and documentation.
Task Group 2: Inspections and Audits
Conduct daily and periodic safety inspections to identify hazards or violations.
Document inspection findings and recommend corrective actions for unsafe conditions.
Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure proper utilization.
Task Group 3: Training and Education
Organize and lead safety training sessions for on-site personnel, including new hires.
Provide refresher courses on safety practices and emergency procedures.
Train teams on proper equipment use and accident prevention techniques.
Task Group 4: Incident Management
Respond to safety incidents, investigating causes and implementing corrective actions.
Maintain detailed records of accidents, near-misses, and safety violations.
Report significant incidents to leadership and regulatory authorities as required.
Skills and Qualifications
Required Skills
In-depth knowledge of construction safety standards and local regulations.
Strong observational and analytical skills for identifying safety risks.
Effective communication skills for training and addressing safety concerns.

Familiarity with OSHA standards or other regulatory frameworks.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety management on construction sites.
Certification in safety management (e.g., OSHA 30-hour, CSP, CHST) is preferred.
Performance Metrics
Number of safety incidents or violations reported and resolved.
Percentage of personnel completing mandatory safety training.
Feedback from teams and project managers on safety protocols and training effectiveness.
Key Activities
Conduct site walkthroughs to ensure safety compliance and identify potential hazards.
Lead safety briefings and toolbox talks for all on-site personnel.
