Role Summary
The Head of Governance Analytics & Insights leads data analysis efforts within Built By DAO’s Governance Division, transforming governance data into actionable insights. This role oversees analytics operations, including evaluating voting patterns, member participation, and policy effectiveness. By working closely with the Governance Analyst and other team members, the Head of Governance Analytics & Insights drives improvements in decision-making processes and governance practices.
Key Responsibilities
Task Group 1: Leadership and Oversight
Supervise the Governance Analytics team, including analysts and data specialists, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Develop and implement strategic plans for governance analytics to improve decision-making processes.
Set performance benchmarks for analytics operations and evaluate team progress.
Task Group 2: Data Analysis and Insights
Analyze governance data, such as voting results, participation trends, and policy impacts, to identify areas for improvement.
Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for governance teams and leadership.
Develop metrics and KPIs to monitor governance performance and member engagement.
Task Group 3: Decision-Making Support
Provide data-driven recommendations to the CGO and governance leadership for refining policies and processes.
Collaborate with the Director of Governance Operations to align analytics with governance activities.
Work with the Ethics & Transparency Officer to ensure data insights promote trust and transparency.
Task Group 4: Reporting and Visualization
Oversee the creation of detailed reports and dashboards for leadership and members.
Ensure data visualizations effectively communicate governance trends and outcomes.
Maintain a repository of analytics reports for transparency and historical reference.
Task Group 5: Collaboration and Innovation
Partner with the Governance Analyst and Data Collection Specialist to enhance data accuracy and depth.
Introduce innovative tools and methodologies to improve analytics processes.
Facilitate workshops and training sessions to build data literacy within the Governance Division.
Skills and Qualifications
Required Skills
Advanced data analysis and visualization skills to derive actionable insights from complex governance data.
Strong leadership and project management abilities to oversee analytics operations.
Excellent communication skills to present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Skills
Proficiency with data analysis tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, Python, or R.
Familiarity with DAO governance structures and blockchain-based data systems.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Political Science, Public Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 7 years of experience in data analytics or governance roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership position.
Certification in data analytics or governance (e.g., CAP, Certified Governance Professional) is a plus.
Performance Metrics
Quality and impact of data insights on governance decisions and policies.
Improvement in governance performance metrics, such as voting participation and policy compliance.
Feedback from leadership and team members on the effectiveness of analytics operations.
Key Activities
Lead team meetings to review analytics progress and prioritize upcoming tasks.
Evaluate governance data to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
Present insights and visualizations to leadership, ensuring actionable recommendations are clear.

Track analytics progress and provide updates to the analytics team.
