Role Summary

The Governance Manager ensures that all governance operations adhere to DAO policies and align with Built By DAO’s organizational goals. This role oversees the implementation of governance processes, coordinates with other teams to ensure smooth decision-making, and monitors the effectiveness of governance structures. The Governance Manager plays a pivotal role in maintaining transparency, accountability, and alignment with the organization’s mission.


Key Responsibilities

Task Group 1: Governance Operations Management

  • Implement and oversee DAO governance processes, including voting mechanisms and policy enforcement.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of governance activities and decisions.

  • Ensure compliance with internal DAO policies and external regulatory requirements.

Task Group 2: Coordination and Alignment

  • Collaborate with other divisions to ensure governance decisions align with organizational goals and initiatives.

  • Act as a liaison between the Governance Division and other teams to facilitate communication and coordination.

  • Provide guidance and support to team members on governance-related issues.

Task Group 3: Monitoring and Reporting

  • Track and evaluate the effectiveness of governance structures and processes.

  • Prepare and present reports on governance activities, including voting outcomes and policy updates.

  • Identify areas for improvement in governance operations and recommend changes.

Task Group 4: Member Engagement and Education

  • Ensure that members understand governance policies and processes through clear communication and training.

  • Organize informational sessions and resources to promote active participation in governance.

  • Respond to member inquiries related to governance operations and decision-making.


Skills and Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of DAO governance structures and decision-making processes.

  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills for managing complex governance operations.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with members and teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with blockchain technologies and decentralized governance tools.

  • Experience with policy development and organizational compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, Political Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in governance, policy management, or a similar role.

  • Certification in governance or compliance (e.g., CCEP, Certified Governance Professional) is a plus.

  • Timeliness and accuracy of governance processes, such as policy implementation and voting outcomes.

  • Member satisfaction with governance transparency and communication.

  • Effectiveness of governance structures based on evaluations and feedback.

Governance Coordinator – 4A1-S1

Summary: The Governance Coordinator supports the Governance Manager by assisting with the implementation of governance processes, maintaining records, and coordinating member participation.

Key Tasks:

  • Help manage voting processes and track participation metrics.

  • Maintain governance documentation and ensure it is easily accessible to members.

  • Assist in organizing training sessions and informational resources on governance.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and data management skills.

  • Familiarity with governance platforms or a willingness to learn.

  • Experience in administrative or governance support roles is preferred.

Performance Metrics:

  • Accuracy and timeliness of governance documentation.

  • Contribution to member engagement in governance activities.
