Joining Built By DAO means becoming part of a community-driven movement focused on equity, ownership, and sustainable development. The onboarding process ensures that you understand how the DAO operates, how to participate, and how to start earning equity.

This is not a passive membership—Built By DAO is built by you.

How Onboarding Works

To fully integrate into the DAO, you’ll go through a structured onboarding process designed to provide you with the necessary tools, knowledge, and connections. Expect to complete the following steps before becoming an active member.

Step 1: Sign Up & Get Started

Once you sign up, you’ll receive:

• A welcome email from Marquis (Founder), welcoming you to the DAO.

• A follow-up email from an Onboarding Specialist, which includes:

  • Links to the documentation website.

  • A scheduling link for two mandatory onboarding calls.

  • A short guide or video on setting up a crypto wallet (if you don’t have one yet).

Step 2: Prepare for Your Onboarding Calls

Before your first call, you’ll need to complete a few tasks:

• ✅ Watch an introductory video explaining Built By DAO’s mission and how we operate.

• ✅ Read through key documentation covering governance, equity-building, and participation.

• ✅ Submit any questions to the onboarding specialist so we can address them in your session.

• ✅ Complete the Member Skills Survey so we can match you with relevant opportunities in the DAO.

Step 3: Onboarding Call 1 – Built By DAO Basics

Your first onboarding session ensures you fully understand how Built By DAO works and what is expected of you as a member.

Step 4: Onboarding Call 2 – Blockchain & DAO Basics

Your second session covers the technical side of DAO participation, ensuring that you are equipped to engage securely and effectively.

📌 Setting up and securing your Web3 wallet (hardware preferred, software optional) 📌 How smart contracts work & what role they play in the DAO 📌 The basics of tokenomics & governance security 📌 Protecting your assets & understanding custody risks (hacks, lost wallets, and security best practices) 📌 Receiving your first Built By DAO NFT and understanding its significance 📌 How governance & voting work (full voting details covered in Phase 2)

Step 5: Start Participating

Once you’ve completed both onboarding sessions, you’re ready to start contributing. Here’s what happens next:

• ✅ You’ll be paired with an Onboarding Battle Buddy—an experienced member to help you navigate your first few weeks.

• ✅ You’ll complete two short quizzes (one for each onboarding session) to reinforce what you’ve learned.

• ✅ You’ll contribute at least 3 hours to DAO activities—this could be governance, working groups, or a specific project.

• ✅ You’ll receive your first task assignment based on your skills and interests.

• ✅ You’ll be invited to a working group to start collaborating with other members.

• ✅ You’ll get access to the Built By DAO Discord—where community discussions happen.

• ✅ You’ll be introduced directly to Markus Davis to help you integrate into leadership discussions.

• ✅ You’ll receive your First-Level Membership NFT, marking your official onboarding completion.
