# Joining

This guide walks you through the process of becoming a Built By DAO member.

## 📋 Before You Begin

Built By DAO is a participation-based organization. Before applying, review what membership involves:

| 🔨 Work      | Read the terms of each task before claiming it      |
| 💳 Wallet    | Connect a supported wallet when the app asks for it |

## 📝 Step 1: Start Your Application

Visit [app.builtbydao.com](https://app.builtbydao.com) and select **Apply to Join**. If the app asks for an invitation or launch code, use the one your organizer provided.

| 📧 Sign-in   | Choose an option shown in the app, such as Google, wallet, or offered email registration |
| 👤 Identity  | Provide the information requested for your application                                   |
| 📝 Agreement | Review the current terms and community rules                                             |

## 👤 Step 2: Complete Your Profile

The profile asks for identity, location, cohort, availability, skills, equipment, work preferences, and participation interests. Save each step and check required fields before submission.

## 📚 Step 3: Review the Introduction

Read the mission and any learning materials shown for your account. The app tracks the next required step; a video or call is not a universal requirement.

## 📋 Step 4: Submit for Review

Submit the completed application. Your status may stay pending while the team reviews it or asks for changes.

| Pending           | Review is still in progress                       |
| Changes requested | Update the information the team identified        |
| Approved          | Continue to the next steps shown for your account |

## 📚 Step 5: Complete Required Learning

The app may assign education, quizzes, or other checks. Complete the steps shown for your account; finishing them does not automatically issue a membership credential.

## 💳 Step 6: Connect Your Wallet

Follow the network and wallet instructions in the app when that step becomes available. A connected wallet is not proof that membership has been issued.

## 🎫 Step 7: Receive Your Membership Credential

Authorized contract action issues one non-transferable credential with your rank and standing. The app should show confirmation before describing it as issued.

## ✅ Step 8: Find Available Work

Browse tasks that your account can claim. Read the deliverables, evidence, deadline, reward, and approval terms before taking a task. No first assignment is guaranteed by onboarding.

## 🤝 Step 9: Connect With Your Team

Join a working group or meet a mentor when one is available for your cohort. The team can help you find the right work and answer questions.

## ⏱️ Time Investment

There is no fixed two-week path or automatic promotion date. Your profile, review, learning, and available tasks determine the pace. Check the app for your next step.
